Kidnapped Man Rescued in Adamawa After Police and Local Hunters Launch Joint Operation

In a powerful show of teamwork and courage, a 28-year-old kidnapping victim was successfully rescued in Adamawa State during a coordinated operation between the Nigeria Police and local hunters.

The incident took place in Gombi Local Government Area on Monday, August 25, following a tip-off about the location of a suspected kidnapper’s hideout tucked away in the mountainous terrain of the region.

How the Rescue Unfolded

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, officers from the Gombi Divisional Headquarters teamed up with professional local hunters after receiving credible intelligence about the captors’ location. As the rescue team approached the hideout, they were met with gunfire.

A fierce exchange followed, but the superior firepower of the security team forced the kidnappers to retreat, abandoning their hostage in the process. Thankfully, the victim, Isah Adamu, was rescued unharmed and without injury.

Community Collaboration Pays Off

Police spokesperson Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the incident and praised the collaboration between law enforcement and the local hunter network. This joint effort once again highlights the value of integrating community intelligence and local knowledge into broader security operations.

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, also commended the swift response and bravery of the team involved. He reiterated the Command’s determination to stamp out kidnapping and criminal activities across the state.

“The Anti-Kidnapping Unit has been tasked with taking over the investigation and tracking down the fleeing suspects,” the statement added.

What This Means for Residents
