Breaking News: Israel Eliminates Top ISIS Commander in Gaza

Israel’s military, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), has confirmed that a senior ISIS figure operating in Gaza has been killed. Identified as Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Abu Zubaida, he was described as the head of the “Palestine District” of ISIS and was eliminated during an operation in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

His Role in ISIS Operations

According to official statements from the IDF, Abu Zubaida played a pivotal role in coordinating ISIS activities across multiple regions—including Gaza, Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), and the Sinai Peninsula. His responsibilities reportedly included overseeing the smuggling of weapons, transferring funds, and orchestrating operational planning across these territories.

Confirmation from Multiple Sources

Various reputable outlets have reported the same:

Daily Post Nigeria confirmed the IDF’s statement and outlined his regional leadership role.

The Times of Israel referred to him as the highest-ranking ISIS official in Gaza, killed in a recent airstrike in the Bureij area under the direction of Israel’s Southern Command.

JNS (Jewish News Syndicate) affirmed that he led the ISIS “Palestine District,” tying him to operations in Gaza, the West Bank, and Sinai.

This development comes on the heels of another high-profile targeting—the killing of Mahmoud al-Aswad, head of the Hamas General Security Apparatus in West Gaza. The IDF continues its offensive in Gaza City and Khan Yunis, targeting what it describes as underground and surface-level “terrorist infrastructure.”

The operation underlines Israel’s broader objective to dismantle militant networks within Gaza. For ISIS, this signals a considerable blow to its command structure in the region. For Israel, it’s a reaffirmation of its ongoing offensive strategy.
