“Nigerian Army Neutralizes Three Terrorists, Rescues 12 Kidnap Victims in 24-Hour Operations”

In a series of coordinated operations across Nigeria, the Nigerian Army has neutralized three terrorists and rescued 12 individuals from captivity within a 24-hour period. The successful missions took place in Benue, Katsina, Kogi, and Adamawa States, underscoring the military’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of citizens.

Key Highlights:

  • Benue State: Troops neutralized one violent extremist and recovered a mobile phone and assorted charms.
  • Katsina State: Two terrorists were eliminated in separate encounters, leading to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a motorcycle.
  • Adamawa State: Five kidnap victims were rescued in Madagali Local Government Area.
  • Kogi State: Two individuals were freed from captivity in Lokoja Local Government Area.

Additionally, the Army apprehended 11 suspects involved in various criminal activities, including armed robbery, gunrunning, and extremist operations. Notably, a notorious member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN), Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, was arrested in Imo State. The operation led to the recovery of an English pistol, 120 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, one cartridge, six mobile phones, military and police uniforms, and a German flag. Troops also uncovered a workshop where stolen vehicles were dismantled for resale and destroyed 10 motorcycles found at the scene.

In Plateau State, the Army recovered 40 rustled cattle and returned them to their rightful owners.

These operations are part of the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt criminal activities, and create a safer environment for citizens.
